Philanthropy

We absolutely LOVE our National Philanthropy, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. More specifically, here at Kappa Upsilon, we raise money for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Sisters have visited the hospital and many nursing majors get to work with the patients in their clinical.

Because of our close involvement with CMNH, we know the impact raising money has on them! We throw many campus-wide events each semester to raise money and also have a lot of fun. This upcoming fall semester we are adding our first ever carnival event and we can't wait to see how it turns out! Here are some of our largest campus-wide events:

Bonnamu:  Our annual Bonnamu Music Festival. It is a night to remember as we brought in various musicians who played For the Kids, we even had muscadine bloodline and Jordan Ragar this past year! Not only were sisters there enjoying the music, but also other sorority and fraternity members. We were so excited for this event and even more excited to see all the support we were shown from our Greek and non-greek community! We cannot wait to see what next year has in store, and how we can continue to support CMNH!

Low Country Boil: This is one of our fall semester philanthropy events. Phi Mu hosts this Southern Magnolia event with the brothers from Sigma Chi. We all come out to the promenade dressed in our best southern attire and serve up an authentic mix of shrimp, sausage, potatoes, and corn all topped with the classic Old Bay seasoning. It is a great opportunity to meet new people, eat delicious food, all while giving back to our beloved CMNH. We raised a cumulative total of $4626.25!

Corn Hole Tournament: This year, 2020, the ladies of Phi Mu hosted our first annual Corn Hole Tournament for CHOA. We had different teams join this event and compete to win first place. We also hosted a raffle to win two custom corn hold boards at the end.
