Letter From Recruitment Chair

Hey y’all! My name is Lynsey Suggs and I am the 2021-2022 Membership Director for the Kappa Upsilon chapter at UNG!

I am so excited to serve our chapter in this position. Recruitment is something I am very passionate about and I am looking forward to recruiting even more amazing sisters!

I am a junior at the UNG Dahlonega campus. I am majoring in psychology and minoring in kinesiology. I hope to eventually apply to graduate school and become an Occupational Therapist! Aside from personal connections, I also found a love for therapy through shadowing and learning more about the field. I love the idea of serving and bettering the lives of others.

I am so proud to be a Phi Mu. Sorority life was never something I expected to be a part of. Transitioning from a small town to a completely new place with fresh, new faces was difficult for me. I signed up for recruitment in hopes to find a place where I belong and get involved on campus. Greek life has done just that! I never imagined the impact it would have on my life. I have met incredible new people, discovered new passions, and found more ways to get involved and grow my leadership skills.

My first time participating in recruitment on the sister side is what initially ignited this passion. I chose to serve as the Assistant Membership Director for the 2021 spring recruitment. Seeing the behind the scenes work and how intentional our chapter is in selecting our newest pledge class, made me even more interested in running for Membership Director.

Recruitment grows us as a sisterhood. We are able to all come together and work towards the same goal. We all have our differences which is what makes recruitment so special. We can all bring something unique to the table which allows us to connect with new girls in different ways. We are intentional in our selecting process and love girls for who they are. Recruitment can be such an empowering experience!

Once again, I am so honored and excited to serve Kappa Upsilon in this position! I cannot wait to begin the recruitment process and teach more girls about our special sisterhood!
